Mission Statement
The purpose of Rapha Ministries is to honor and glorify God by providing quality medical care to uninsured individuals in Clark County while also ministering to their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Background Statement
Rapha Ministries was conceived in the hearts and minds of Dr. Scott and Stacy Baker, Winchester, after medical mission trips to Haiti and Papua New Guinea. God used these experiences to spark a sensitivity to the needs of the poor and medically underserved in their own community. In October 2004, Dr. Baker shared this vision with his local church and requested a financial commitment that would allow him to begin the good work God had started in his heart.
In November 2004, Dr. Baker had located and secured a lease agreement with property owner Ben Huber to open the clinic at 137 North Main Street, Winchester. The location of the facility was critical because it is walking distance of the poor neighborhoods that Rapha would come to serve and now continues to serve.

Extensive renovation was needed to turn this former pool hall into what is now a state of the art medical facility. The clinic currently includes a waiting room, front office, laboratory, pharmacy, three exam rooms, two restrooms, physician office and a large storage area. The renovation project was donated by the funds and hands of a generous hometown community who could see firsthand the desperate need of many who neglect their healthcare needs due to a lack of financial resources. God pierced the hearts of local merchants, business professionals, and individuals who volunteered time and resources to bring this project to fruition. The clinic opened its doors on May 9, 2006 and has been fully operational since.

Rapha Ministries offers primary healthcare, pharmaceutical and radiology services to adults and children, who are uninsured, do not receive governmental medical assistance or have no financial resources to afford medical care. Services are provided in a modern, well equipped facility with a volunteer staff of compassionate medical professionals focused on meeting people at their point of need. Rapha currently has two medical doctors, one physician assistant, one registered nurse, three office administrators, one pharmacists, and six prayer warriors volunteering time monthly. Rapha also recently received funding to hire a part-time Clinic Coordinator to oversee clinic operations and improve continuity of care as the needs of our community continue to grow.

The clinic operates as any primary care physician office would. We currently have a patient base of approximately 150. We are committed to serving those already established in our clinic and look forward to a future where with more volunteers and financial commitments we can serve more of those in need. Our volunteers work diligently to meet the needs of those God has placed in our care for now and will continue to work toward meeting the greater need. His grace is sufficient.

Dr. Baker firmly believes that by first administering to the physical needs of people, a natural bridge is built which allows volunteers to meet and fulfill patients’ spiritual needs as well. The goal at Rapha is to see people healed physically and spiritually. We are witnessing the transformation of lives right before our very eyes. Not only are our patients healthier physically, but their heads are lifted just as the Word promises. We praise Rapha, the Lord our Healer, that He still does miracles today. At the core of Rapha Ministries, Inc. is the love of God and the principles set forth in the Bible.

Impact Statement
During the past year, Rapha Ministries has continued to faithfully serve our patients, providing primary care and locating specialty services when necessary. We were able to secure grant funds to provide blood pressure machines to all our patients struggling with hypertension and glucometers and strips for all our patients suffering with diabetes.

We saw great spiritual growth in our patients, some making first time confessions of faith, while others learned to grow in their faith with prayer support, and encouragement from Rapha volunteers.

In 2013, Rapha Ministries hired a part-time physician's assistant along with a part-time nurse and administrative assistant, allowing the ministry to establish consistent clinic hours throughout the week.

We are also excited about our growing presence and recognition by the community we serve. Over the past year, we have worked diligently to speak to many civic, community and faith-based organizations.

In 2011, we expanded our volunteer services to include a safe place for fellowship for our patient population providing healthy meals, praise and worship and exposure to the Word of God.

We plan to increase the number of board members as we seek to expand our ministry.

Needs Statement
The following list contains Rapha's current needs:

1.  Need primary care physicians/nurse practitioner volunteers to increase number of days clinic is open.  Also, in need of more specialist physician volunteers.

2.  Needs ongoing financial support to maintain employment of clinic staff and other operating expenses.

3.  Prayer support for volunteers and patients.

4.  Volunteers willing to do the following:  prepare and serve meals; provide music and lead worship; and shepherd Rapha patients during forthcoming fellowship/worship services.

5.  Volunteers who are interested and gifted in event planning.

CEO/Executive Director Statement
Rapha Ministries is a private organization funded through the generous giving of individuals, businesses, churches, civic groups, and private foundations.  The ministry's volunteer staff is committed to providing quality primary healthcare, while also ministering to the emotional and spiritual needs of our patients.  We firmly believe that lovingly alleviating the physical ills of an individual develops a level of trust and rapport which in turn enables us to also provide emotional and spiritual nurturance of the individual.  This individual and personal patient focus is a major strength of this ministry.
Rapha relies solely on God as our Source for all that we accomplish.  With that said, this ministry is committed to a set of values and principles that defines who we are as an organization, namely:  the pursuit of excellence; the treatment of each individual as a "whole" person; the preservation of each individual's dignity; the adherence of this ministry's governance to the highest level of integrity; and the demonstration of love towards others as ourselves.
As we aspire to live out these values within this ministry, we, as volunteers, along with our patients are forever changed.
Board Chair Statement
Our board of directors represents a strong balance of occupations, backgrounds, and experience, bringing to Rapha a true blend, allowing for sound decision making and judgment.
Our board members are visionaries, always being open and proactive to further development and expansion of Rapha's programs.  The board is grateful to have hired a part-time physcian's assistant as well as a part-time nurse and administrative assistant, allowing consistent clinic hours throughout the week. The hiring of this staff required the board's exercise of faith for the provision of funding needed for these positions.  The donorship was sufficiently supplied, demonstrating our community's support of this much needed ministry and ministry positions.
Rapha's financial position is currently strong and stable, and continues to improve as we continue to cultivate relationships that are donor-centered while also enhancing the ministry's visibility as a vital service to the community's uninsured population.
