Mission Statement
The Fayette County Bar Foundation was established in conjunction and with the support of the Fayette County Bar Association and is a 501(C)(3) charitable institution.  The mission and purpose of the Foundation is to raise and distribute tax exempt and charitable funds for law related projects, organizations and education primarily within Fayette County with the guiding principle being to improve the judiciary and administration of justice, the legal system and provide reasonable access to the justice system for all and to foster and encourage members of the Fayette County Bar Association to become actively involved in charitable activities within this community.

The Fayette County Bar Foundation was established in conjunction and with the support of the Fayette County Bar Association and is a 501(C)(3) charitable institution.  The mission and purpose of the Foundation is to raise and distribute tax exempt and charitable funds for law related projects, organizations and education primarily within Fayette County with the guiding principle being to improve the judiciary and administration of justice, the legal system and provide reasonable access to the justice system for all and to foster and encourage members of the Fayette County Bar Association to become actively involved in charitable activities within this community.  The Bar Foundation's mission is pursued through its 25-member Board of Directors comprised of local lawyers and judges and through the generous donations of the Foundation's 212 Fellows who represent both the public and private sector practice of law in Fayette County.
Impact Statement
During 2011, the Fayette County Bar Foundation provided direct financial support for the following vital local programs: Fayette County Pro Bono Program (free legal services to the indigent and victims of domestic violence); Maxwell Street Legal Clinic (free and low cost legal assistance in immigration matters); Legal Aid of the Bluegrass (domestic violence advocacy project); Kentucky Legal Education Opportunity Project (scholarships for low income and minority law students); Carnegie Center LARK program (literacy support for children in low income neighborhoods); and Grandparents as Parents Conference (legal and social service information for grandparents raising grandchildren).  Also in 2011, the Fayette County Bar Foundation Board of Directors implemented a strategic plan to guide the Foundation's future fundraising and increase engagement of the local bar in its charitable mission, and publicity.  The Foundation is continuing to support local programs in 2012 with new grants to the Fayette County Pro Bono Program, Legal Aid of the Bluegrass, Grandparents as Parents, and Sunflower Kids (a new recipient for 2012 which provides supervised visitation services in high risk custody cases).  
Needs Statement
The organization's top most pressing needs are:
1. Additional financial donations to increase Foundation assets for future grants;
2. Increased membership/participation from members of the local Bar;
3. Increased public awareness of the Foundation's existence and mission.
CEO/Executive Director Statement The Foundation currently operates on a purely voluntary basis with its member attorneys providing financial management, grant review and selection , fundraising and development .
