We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. •The Y is community centered. For 157 years, we’ve been listening and responding to our communities. •The Y brings people together. We connect people of all ages and backgrounds to bridge the gaps in community needs. •The Y nurtures potential. The Wilderness Trace Family YMCA used over 200 volunteers each year.  They provide office assistance, coach sports leagues, help at events, fundraise, donate time to do repairs and clean the YMCA.  If you are interested in volunteering with the YMCA you can help coach a sports league or come into a childcare program to do a special craft/event.  We also allow some volunteers to lead exercise classes. All volunteers must fill out a volunteer application and have a negative TB test. Some volunteer positions also require a background check. If you have a program that you would like to volunteer to run as a YMCA program please put a presentation together so that the Wilderness Trace Family YMCA Board can vote on your program.
