Mission Statement Nurturing Children, Investing in Families
Background Statement

All God’s Children (AGC) was opened in 1999 to give teen moms a safe place to live with their children as they finished their education, learned proper parenting, and prepared for the future. The very first day when we opened, three moms and their babies moved into the ‘big house.’ One of those little families was Edna and Olivia Roberts. When Edna was 16 and Olivia was 4-months, they moved into our family’s personal home and six months later became the first to move into AGC.

With moms in school every day we quickly saw we needed a daycare to care for the babies. So AGC Daycare opened in the fall of 1999.

After two years, Edna and Olivia needed to begin to learn to navigate life on their own and we opened an Independent Living Program in 2001.

20 years later, Edna and Olivia are not only a huge part of our history for they are both on staff serving right alongside us and meeting the needs of our current teen moms and their children, the children in our daycare, the independent living program, and foster homes.

AGC’s programs and services continue to grow and change to meet best practice standards and the needs we see for children in crisis in Kentucky. In fact, our Therapeutic Foster Care Agency is one of our newer programs, which locates, recruits, and trains dedicated foster parents throughout Central Kentucky who are eager to care for the thousands of children in need of good, safe homes.

Impact Statement

All God’s Children is located in Jessamine County and after 20 years, has evolved into a four-fold program with the same powerful purpose, to nurture children and invest in families.  In summary, these programs are:

1) The largest residential treatment home in Kentucky for pregnant and parenting teens and their babies.

2) A Pre-Independent Living Program for AGC’s young mothers to take the next step into independence.

3) Our trademark Early Childhood Center that is free for all teen mother’s children to attend while they are furthering their education and

4) Our Therapeutic Foster Care Agency that is helping find good, safe homes with parents eager to help over 9,000 foster children in Kentucky.

Our life changing programs allow us to equip and intentionally cultivate a new culture that consists of love, nurturance, independence and hope. We seek to build bridges of hope that will ultimately better lives…..one with a healthy baby, child and/or teen with Christ in their LIFE.

A Pre-Independent Living Program exists for AGC’s young mothers to take the next step into independence. They have the opportunity to live in an apartment and gain essential independent living skills while also receiving on-going support and case management services. Mothers continue to learn best practice in parenting, while learning proven steps that lead to employment, learning and practicing financial skills, and how to balance home life, family, work, self-care, and other responsibilities.
