Mission Statement Fulfilling our eternal purpose to love others in Jesus' name with the power of bicycles.
Background Statement We are a very young organization. We started out of the heart to love others in Jesus' name with the power of bicycles. We have mainly been focused in Lexington in the Woodhill and East End neighborhoods, with our main focus now being in Woodhill. We also have plans on bringing bicycles to Haiti. We don't just give and fix bicycles though, we also try to build relationships with each person who receives a bicycle. We also teach classes on basic bicycle repair.
Impact Statement
In the last three months, we have successfully finished all of our paperwork and are officially a 501c3! We have also already given away 3 bicycles to people in need with several more nominations pending. We have also been actively in the Woodhill neighborhood fixing bicycles starting in March of 2015.
Some of our goals for 2016 include bringing bikes to Haiti, moving into a larger warehouse space where we can host Bible studies and bicycle maintenance classes, while building and maintaining strong relationships with our recipients and partners.
Needs Statement
Securing more partners is our biggest need right now. We have raised (as of 3/24/16) $5,516.95 of our $61,000 yearly budget. The top five needs in our finances are paying our rent for a year in advance ($10,000/y), paying for our insurance policy ($2,000/y), bike repair costs ($21,600/y), bringing bikes to Haiti ($10,000/y), and the directors salary ($10,000/y).
Finding an insurance company that will underwrite our liability policy is second on our list as we haven't been able to find one.
Those are really all of our truly pressing needs at this time. We have a lot of people that want to volunteer for us and a lot of people donating bicycles to use already.
CEO/Executive Director Statement Jesus lived His life in relationship. Loving people where they were but also getting to know them and becoming friends. We want to keep it simple as well. Love God, Love people, give bicycles, and build relationships.

Impact Questions
GoalsHelpWhat is the organization aiming to accomplish? This is the organization's ultimate goal for intended impact. Our ultimate goal is to spread the love of Jesus through relationships. We don't just want to give bicycles away, but we want to develop friendships with the people who receive them. We intend to give away and fix bicycles to start these relationships. The main community we are focused on is the Woodhill neighborhood of Lexington. With that in mind our new shop space is located on Woodhill drive. We hope to use this space not only to work on bicycles, but also to host special events for the neighborhood, like Bible studies, bicycle maintenance classes, and worship nights.
StrategiesHelpWhat are the organization's strategies for its stated long-term goals?
Our main strategy for finding recipients for our bicycles is to be present in the neighborhood as much as possible. This means serving with Serve the City every Monday night.
We are also allowing any of our partners to nominate recipients through our website. Some of our current partners include: Southland Christian Church, Helping Through Him, Lexington Rescue Mission, The Refuge Clinic, and Natalie's Sisters.
CapabilitiesHelpWhat are the organization’s capabilities for doing this? What resources, capacities, and connections support its progress towards long-term goals?
We take in a lot of independent donations from private donors for money and bicycles as well as receiving a large amount of bicycle donations from Pedal Power Bike Shop.
Our board of directors have a range a useful skills through out, including five years of bicycle shop experience, and experience in marketing, design, nonprofit, photography, and accounting.
We also have great reach in the local bicycle community do to the five years of shop experience with extensive connections to donors and volunteers.
IndicatorsHelpHow will the organization know if it is making progress? What are the key qualitative and quantitative indicators against which the organization assesses its progress toward its intended impact? Some of the ways to measure progress in our organization will be how many of our past recipients come and volunteer for us as their bicycle knowledge grows. We could also measure our success and progress by number of baptisms.
ProgressHelpWhat has and hasn’t been accomplished so far?
So far we have given away three bicycles. This was all with very limited shop space and no volunteers, all while paying retail prices for our parts.
That being said, we have not utilized any volunteers yet. This is because we have not yet acquired our own shop space. We also still do not have an account with a wholesale bicycle parts distributor. All of these things are quickly falling into place though.
