Mission Statement

The Mission of Thy Will Be Done, Production and Performance Fund, Inc., is to secure resources for the creation and production of works by Angela Rice which contribute to the building of the fabric of society by combining the highest quality of musical composition and performance with spirituality and ethics enhancing the arts in central Kentucky.

Background Statement

Thy Will Be Done by Angela Rice the brilliant Kentucky born composer of over 200 works is in its sixth year of production. Produced  each year by Dr. Everett McCovey with Metropolitan Opera tenor Gregory Turay singing the lead every year the performance has risen to become one of the finest musical performances offered in Kentucky on an annual basis. The Singletary Center on the University of Kentucky Campus now provides one of the finest venues available in the South. Increased funding each year has now allowed for nationally renowned full orchestration and directorship under Robert Baldwin and the addition of the Lexington Singers. Certainly Thy Will Be Done is the finest Oratorio offered in Kentucky each year.

Impact Statement

THY WILL BE DONE prepared and preformed an Oratorio on March 13, 2016, with over two hundred musicians and vocalists from all over the United States. The performance marked the fifth consecutive year of the performance of the work by Lexington composer Angela Rice. Over six hundred persons were in attendance at the Singletary Center on the campus on the University of Kentucky. The Performance was marked by full orchestration by composer Professor Joseph Baber, composer in Residence of the University of Kentucky, and was produced by Dr. Everett McCovey, Director of Opera of the University of Kentucky.

The uniqueness of the performance lies in the unique compelling melodies of the composer, Angela Rice, coupled with professional orchestration, by Joe Baber and world class performances including Mr. Gregory Turay a long-time performer with the Metropolitan Opera.

Needs Statement The fully orchestrated performance of Thy Will Be Done, INC. has now risen to the level of Altech’s Christmas Celebration of Song in every respect and it is the intent of the Board of Directors for this production to be on television in the Easter Season annually in Central Kentucky.
