Mission Statement Frankie's Corner Little Thoroughbred Crusade (FCLTC) is an introduction to the equestrian world and horsemanship, which is to enhance the learning experience for children to young adults with an interest in the equine industry by providing a blend of series of hands on education with a scholarly equine context.
Background Statement Frankie's Corner Little Thoroughbred Crusade (FCLTC) was established in 2015, after the passing of the founders grandfather, he moved back from California. As the founder sat in the room in which his grandfather passed in and watched the news one day, a news story repeated for a over a week about a gentleman being indited for recruiting teens into gangs. Being born and raised in the community, knowing that by the time you are 12 and 13, Champs Rollerdome, the movies and walking the malls get very boring as a youth. At that moment the founder looked at a painting of his grandfather, the Keeneland sales green coat horse holder the organization was born. FCLTC was created to give youth of the community something to do. 1. Not only give them something to do. 2. Give them a new avenue for scholarship opportunity.3 Learning a new life skill that could make them self sufficient. The horsemanship knowledge pass down from the grandfather and the knowledge from his farm management tenure while on the west coast has been formulated in to FCLTC youth program.
Impact Statement Currently, there are about 14,116 children who are registered as at risk children and teens and in services within the State of Kentucky. Frankie's Corner Little Thoroughbred Crusade (FCLTC) offers its equine-base therapeutic services to low income recipients in need, at no cost thereby ensuring that there is no financial hindrance to discourage participation. Equine-base therapy is not only effective but it's an important component in attracting children to therapy. The quality to care provided to our clients & the method in which it is lovingly provide is one of our most essential keys to success. FCLTC will provide an increased awareness of overall interpersonal relationships, build self-esteem, and provide emotional and psychological well-being. The Ultimate goal is to be the local source from which all local Universities/ Colleges will come offering full scholarships for FCLTC students to build the schools equestrian teams, veterinary, agriculture program etc. . The program will utilize a core curriculum that will be completed in phases. Each phase has a hand on approach that will allow the student to master equine skills, and refresh skills that are needed for basic human development. When each student feels that the specific task is fulfilled to the best of their ability, the student can then ask for a Task Evaluation (TE). Upon completion of all tasks for the specific phase, the student will then give a self-evaluation along with a peer evaluation and lastly an instructor evaluation which at that time will transition to the next appropriate phase. FCLTC is designed to transition the student in phases where they will be required to test through each phase as an addition evaluation of the effectiveness of the program.
